FL STUDIO mobile!

If you're anything like me...you'll have used Fruity Loops & FL Studio!
Fruity Loops 2/3 to be exact has been a fave of mine for many years! having paid £99 for it many years ago!...and altho I'm not these days a regular user I still love going back to my old fave prog Fruity Loops from time to time and make some tracks, I have FREE lifetime updates and probably have every update from the last 10 years or so the later FL Studio never quite had that simple interface usability that I initially loved about the program...I bought it initially just because I wanted a simple PC based drum machine but got a lot lot more...anyway enuff of my LIFESTORY with Fruity Loops my point of this post IS they have now released a mouthwatering iPad/iPhone & iPod Touch version FL Studio mobile and I've got to be honest it looks amazing, with this and all the other great music stuff on the iPad...Korg are doing some amazing stuff! I think its now time to get out there and purchase that iPad!...altho why they have created this purely for Apple devices is a complete mystery considering Fruity Loops etc was always a PC program.....weird...but AWESOME!...!

KORG DS10 drum patches!

A short video about the drum patches within the very fine Korg DS10 on the even finer Nintendo ds machine!....here's some info from the original youtube post'dude! http://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisLody I've been sat with ds-10 for a few nights now learning a few things about drum synthesis. I knew a little theory, but mostly I have just let my ear guide me. After a million indescicive tweaks I came up with a drum kit I think is good enough to share with the world. There is 5 drums in total. A kick, snare, closed hi-hat and open hi-hat in the drum section, then also a distorted tom loaded into pattern 6's syn2.

I recorded the sound separately so I could show you the parameters while you listen to a few loops I made with them. I couldn't resist putting a bit of a bass line over it too, just for fun : )

p.s. I'll add some annotations when the damn thing'll let me! I'm guessing it'll work with ds-10 plus also but I've no way to test it.

Google’s Android platform has gotten only a fraction of the attention for music making that iPhone OS and iPad have, but that doesn’t mean the OS doesn’t have some advantages of its own. Thanks to being an open OS, it’s also easier to install custom OSes, and repurpose older devices and build cheap embedded computers on a platform like BeagleBoard. The remaining challenge: convince Google that beefing up real-time audio hardware access is important. So, with Google’s own I/O conference this week and me in Berlin next week during DroidCon, now seems like the perfect time to talk about handheld music on the platform.

Bradley Berthold (developer “niko twenty”) writes with news that he’s releasing two apps for Android. Electrum Drum Machine is a simple 808-style groove box / sampler. It’s not as pretty as some of its rivals on iPhone OS, but the ability to drop samples right on an SD card – no additional software required – is a big edge. Accordingly, there’s a nice interface for editing waveforms and sample points, and you can export to WAV or MIDI, then pull that SD card and drop it somewhere else. (In fact, that means you should be able to take an SD card and plug it into hardware samplers with MIDI or audio file support, without ever touching a computer. Kick it oldskool.)

You know how drummers tap desks, objects, and anything around them incessantly, often unaware of the fact that they’re doing it, until people get annoyed? Well, now you don’t need a drummer around: you can program a Game Boy to do the same thing.

Jowan Sebastian has built a brilliant, elegant application for Game Boys called kBANG. Wire up a Game Boy to other objects — like solenoids, simple mechanical devices that can perform a tapping action — and you’ve got a real-world drum machine. Enough glitchy beats: physical objects become percussion.

The MPD24 is a MIDI-over-USB pad controller for DJs, programmers, producers, and others musicians. Built around the controls from Akai Professional's industry-standard MPC series, the MPD24 is an expressive and intuitive instrument for the studio and stage.
