IN THE WEIRDNESS Files! Vintage Drum Machine Theremin!

Last of the Incredibly Funky Devices! This is an extremely rare piece and is the last one available ever. Its a foot or hand controlled analog drum machine from Shin-e Companion (Jax) of Japan circa 1967, with my built in photocell theremin circuit. I also tweaked the sounds for maxim freak-out levels. It has super-funky stylings with it's rainbow control panel, chrome & rubber pedals and faux-wood look. It's extremely clean and in great working and physical condition with the exception of a few scuffs and scratches. "The 4 In The Floor" has very analog sounds and is very fun to play. Analogue kick drum generator

The Kick Lancet generator is a handy analogue percussion synthesizer with priority to kick-drum sounds.

The heart of the Kick Lancet's sound structure is an analogue oscillator that produces sine and square waves, which can blend seamlessly from one to the other. 2 independent envelope generators with a decay/release phase can modulate the oscillator's frequency and the VCA. Additionally the VCO pitch can be modulated by the fast LFO (3Hz to 3 kHz, triangle). Noise and a pulse signal can be added in the mixer section. Vermona have a balls-controller for making it really big.

The Kick Lancet can be triggered by MIDI but beside that there are 3 different trigger inputs. A gate trigger, which impulse can trigger the Kick Lancet in normal way with additional accent or completely dynamical depending on the incoming voltage, a simply short current trigger (i.e. momentary foot switch) and an audio input, which offers the possibility to trigger the Kick Lancet by an audio signal statically or dynamically. Drum pads can also be connected here.

RARE Vintage Dr Bohm Digital Drums...for sale!

Here's some info about this machine from the seller!

As I will leave my country very soon, I have to sell some of my equipments.

Here it is a Digital Drum Machine made by Dr. Bohm. It was in perfect working order until I asked a friend of my to clean it from dust in order to post it on ebay. I do not know what happened, but now I have no sound in the outputs. Everything else seems to work perfect excepting the output sound.

Other issues: there is one button missing (from pattern section) and other 3 buttons (from the same section) that respond only when pressed hard.

Otherwise, it seems to be in working order. The digital display shows the parameters of every button or pad.

Taking into account that there is no sound (may be a minor problem), I am selling it hoping that someone will be able to repair it and to use it to create beautiful music.

This is a very nice vintage MRQ-1 Maestro "Rhythm Queen" drum machine.  It is in perfect working condition, and looks great for its age, only has minor wear on some corners and edges, no rips or tears.  The sound that comes out of this unit is excellent.  Great for playing guitar over.  I particularly like the GO-GO button!  Adjustment between the Balance and Tempo with 8 separate rhythm models, makes this a very versatile machine.  Excellent for studio use, has 1/4" output to amp on back panel, or built-in speaker on side.

ROLAND CR800 for sale!.....DROOOOL!

NOW this is a total classic....here's some info from the seller!
Roland CompuRhythm CR-8000 Drum Machine.

Lots of info on the net and YouTube about this classic drum machine.

Seen by some as a bridge between the CR-78 and TR-808 - having owned all of these I would say the CR-8000 has the preset patterns in the style of the 78 and the sounds in the style of the 808.

It's programmable too, of course, with din-sync in/out and variable trigger out on 1/4".

You'll notice that there's two buttons missing in the 'add voice' section - these are for adding pre-programmed cymbals on every beat or semi-quaver. I _never_ wanted that facility but your mileage may vary, of course. The cymbals themselves still work perfectly where pre-programmed or indeed programmed by the user.

All the other buttons work - a genuine few are a little temperamental sometimes but nothing that prevents using this fine machine to it's full.

I have the service and owners manual for the CR-8000 and (I think) some spare buttons which I haven't been able to find yet. Assume they're (the buttons) NOT included but I'll look again and happily include them if successful.

Typical Roland quality and a great addition to any studio - they literally don't make them like this anymore and can't be replaced by samples - many have tried and failed.

VINTAGE Roland TR700...for sale!

I don't know too much about the history of this machine, but apparently it was one of the first units ever made by Roland. If you're looking for a vintage drum machine that really shows how vintage it is, then this is it. Nothing like this is made these days.

Powers up and plays ok, but there is noise when using the almost antique sliders. Comes with built in speakers and various inputs for start / audio input, etc.
Shipping is from Japan and is insured. Takes about 2 - 3 weeks, sometimes a bit faster.
*Seller is based in Fukuoka, an area of Japan which was unaffected by the recent earthquake and tsunami.

RARE Vintage Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR8L....for sale!

Vintage Ace Tone Rhthym Ace FR8L 'Rhythym Producer' analogue Drum Machine.
These machines are becoming more and more rare, and this one is in full working order.
'Ace Tone' were founded in 1960 and went on to become a name we all know these days, Roland.
This unit was launched around 1974, and dates from that time.
It's housed in an elegant wooden cabinet, which has a couple of minor scuffs and marks, but for something that's almost 40 years old, and was heavily used in its earlier days, it's done not badly. The only thing 'wrong' with it, is the screws have been removed from the folding music desk! The Music desk is there (as can be seen in the pics) and will need 6 small screws to re-attach it.

We have a sensible reserve on this unit, or you can buy it now!
There is only this one, and once it's sold, it's sold.
As it is such an instrinsically valuable piece of musical history, we would prefer it to be collected, but will courier at cost.

Note, these usually sell for between £130 and £160 and the reserve price reflects this.

ROLAND TR707....a classic....for sale!

Heres the info from the ebay seller:

RELISTED DUE TO BUYER CHANGING THEIR MIND - PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT SHIP TO OVERSEAS BUYERS!*
As heard on countless classic Chicago house and acid tracks, the TR 707 is still as distinctive - and fantastic - as when it first appeared over 25 years ago.
Although not revered in the same way as the 808 and 909 rhythm composers, its sounds are instantly recognizable.

Item is in very good condition. There are some very minor cosmetic marks but nothing that affects performance. The LCD matrix screen, faders, buttons and connections are all fully functional. The battery compartment cover is missing (this is common with any of these units these days), but you can still use batteries for memory back-up without any issues. I can't vouch for the condition of the cartridge slot, as I've not used it.

Does not come in original box or user manual (a PDF of which can be found very easily online, anyway), and the PSU is a suitable replacement.

KAY Rhythmer VTG Model R12...for sale!

Heres some info from the seller of this great machine:

Hello everyone, I got lots of questions about this machine so I went and did my homework!
I was able to borrow an amplifier to plug it in and test it - here is what I found out:
it does make the sound of the beats, in all of the different styles and tempos BUT: there is a constant sound coming out of the speaker - like a high-pitched, constant tone. I have no idea what that means - is it a problem with my friend's amp? A feedback situation? Something that can be fixed? I just don't know. I don't know if this is something that is happening because of the drum machine itself or because of the cord or if it's something that needs fixing or if this machine needs to be discarded completely.

If you know exactly what this means, how to fix it or work around it, then it is for you.
Otherwise, if there are no bids, I will assume that it is, sadly, for landfill.

THE Metasonix D1000!

The first drum machine made with vacuum tubes since the Wurlitzer Sideman of 1959.

Unlike the Sideman, it's a "modern" primitive device--with plenty of inputs, outputs, and flexibility.

Even though it has only four drum sounds -- two tunable drums, a tunable "snare" drum (harder sounding than the others), and a cymbal -- control voltage inputs give great flexibility.

Each of the tunable drums is made from a vacuum tube ringing bandpass filter, and can be tuned to sound from below 20 Hz to over 2 kHz. They are also tunable with external control voltages, allowing complex patterns to be built up with external CV or pulse sources. Resonance of each filter circuit is set by internal trimpots. The cymbal sound is an extremely primitive circuit, with white noise gated by a pentode tube. The cymbal's attack is knob-variable and CV variable, from a sharp click to a soft "whoosh". The four outputs mix to a single tube preamp that allows for overdriving via the mix-level controls.

In keeping with the primitive nature of the soundmaking section, the pattern sequencer is extremely simple. Unlike early drumboxes, we won't subject you to preset nonsense like "waltz", "foxtrot", "swing" or the like. Instead, there is a single 8-pulse sequence with separate enable switches for each drum sound--set a toggle switch up to get the sound at that point, down for silence. Great for house, hardcore or other simple 4/4 patterns. The internal clock is settable from 60 BPM to over 1000 BPM. There is also a "roll" clock signal built-in, to generate a faster drumroll on any drum sound by pressing a button (speed is preset with an internal trimpot). If you don't like the internal sequencer, there are separate trigger inputs for each of the four sounds (the trigger pulse must be 0 to +5v, and less than 40 mS long). These trigger inputs operate in parallel with the built-in sequencer, so the D-1000's sounds may be triggered by its internal sequence and external pulses at the same time. As a bonus, the three tunable drums can also be used as tunable bandpass filters, by feeding a line audio signal to each trigger input.

Ample inputs and outputs: mix output (with overdriveable tube preamp), separate outputs for each drum sound, external trigger inputs for each drum sound, and a main clock output (0-5v) for slaving external generators to the internal clock.

No, it does not sound like a TR-606. It's a beast you have never seen or heard before.
