Does a brilliant emulation sof the sounds of the classic Roland 808 and 909 drum machines, and all sounds are tweakable via front panel knobs and most by midi. It uses ASM modelling. It has a stereo output and six individual outs which allow you to bring out the kick, snare etc on separate channels for specific processing. Used by Orbital and Hardfloor among others.

Up for auction is my MFB Schlagzwerg Semi-Modular analogue drum machine. I bought the Schlagzwerg only a couple of months ago brand new from Thomann. The drum machine has only had around 4 hours use and is in brand new / mint condition and comes boxed with manual, power supply and additional patch cables.
The MFB Schlagzwerg is capable of creating some of the largest analogue drum sounds I have heard and stands up well against classics such as the Roland Tr-808 and Tr-909 drum machines;

MFB SCHLAGZWERG combines the power of analogue drum and percussion sounds with modular versatility in a convenient and compact desktop unit. SCHLAGZWERG fusions CV-controllable percussion modules and a six-track CV/Gate-sequencer into a unique drum-machine for live and studio applications.
Thanks to its semi-modular concept, SCHLAGZWERG is ready to go without any need for patch-connections. Its internal pre-wiring comprises trigger-assignments for the gate-tracks of five (of six) drum-sounds as well as hihat decay-control. The additional CV-tracks can freely be patched to any of the modules’ functions. Naturally, the available CV-inputs can also be addressed by external control sources like LFOs, envelope generators or a Theremin-controller.

Welcome to the auction for a Roland TR-909 drum machine looking for a new home. I need to downsize, so this is a reluctant sale.
This machine has been in use in my home studio for about 5 years so I can confirm that everything works. As you would expect for a machine of it's age it has a few marks and scuffs here and there. These are mainly on the plastic end panels, but it's pretty clean overall.
A few of the volume pots are a bit worn at certain positions through use, e.g. on the hi-hats. But this easily worked around by setting the volume slightly above or below that point. Unless you want to live mix by turning those knobs, it's not an issue. The machine is built like a tank!
You can use it either as a sound module (trigger each sound from a midi keyboard) or use the onboard sequencer to make patterns and tracks. You can also midi sync it to a midi sequencer, like cubase, using the DIN socket. The internal sequencer clock is absolutely rock solid. It comes with a power lead and midi leads. This is TRUE TR808 and TR909 emulation. This is the same thing internally as the 808/909. No samples, kids. This is the REAL thing. Fat Analog Heaven. For about $600-$700 US you can get an 808 and 909 with full MIDI implementation as well as a MIDI/SYNC converter--thats approximately $1000 less than buying the originals without MIDI. (If you bought a real 808 & 909, MIDIed them, and bought a SYNC converter, the minimum price would be $2100, I call that a deal. TO TAKE A BID GO HERE!

Sounds include kick, snare, hand clap, open and closed hi hats, low mid and hi toms, rim shot, ride and crash cymbals. Sounds are tweakable - attack, tone, tuning, decay, snap and accent. This machine does not sound like true acoustic drums, and we don't want it to. It has a unique and very loveable analog sound that's all its own!
This mod add three sound kits, Oberheim DMX, Roland TR 909 and Yamaha RY30. The Casio RZ-1 was a drum machine manufactured and released by Casio in the 1986. It was one of the first drum machines to have an on-board editable sampled drum beat. More info HERE!

It has internal connections for sync and linear frequency cross modulation, and are also pre patched to the ring modulator. All these connections go through normalized jacks, so external signals can also be used. They deliver square and pulse waves, triangle, sine and four variants of ramp wave, each adding more over tones with a more nasal timbre. The VCOs can be switched to LFO mode and has both normal and inverted output.
They have a classic warm and fat VCO sound, not as harsh as the Doepfer, and not so muddy as the Analogue Systems.
It sounds so good that I don't automatically want to put them through in a filter to shape it. The PWM sound is extremely beefy. I can't guarantee the CV tracking all to the very top, but it sweeps from LFO to beyond the hearing level to somewhere around 22 KHZ. Even at high modulation levels, it does not go into distortion, and keeping its warmth. That makes it a very good tool for FM sounds. The ring modulator is also a high quality unit. It sounds good, and accepts both AC and DC, making it useful as a VCA unit if needed.
On the downside, there are mainly two things. First, the waveform is determinate by a knob. I would have preferred to have them in separate outputs. The second is the lack of an octave switch, review from electro-music.com
