Another 80's classic on ebay! never a huge fan of this machine...but (sadly) always liked the look of it!!...kinda looks great nestled amongst other little masterpieces!...here's the sellers blurb!

The really nice feature is the ability to sample new sounds in and integrate them into patterns. There are four banks available, and you can link up to four banks to get longer samples. Alright, the sampling is only 12 bit, but the bandwidth is excellent, so it will reproduce everything from meaty kicks, to sizzling cymbals, or even vocal/guitar/bass loops. A nice bit of kit at a great price, since Casio have always been Yamaha and Rolands leperous cousins! Also, its big and chunky, looks cool, and has nicely sized buttons for frenzied thwaking! The backlit LCD is nice for those badly lit studio / live sessions. And you can add sounds from any other drum amchine, so it'll never go out of date! The lack of fantastic sampling quality actually helps new sounds to sound beefier than before. GET ONE NOW!!!

CASIO RZ1 Vintage Sampling....for sale!

This is a retro 80s drum machine. I'm having a good old new years clear out and as this has been sat gathering dust in my studio for a couple of years. You can read about it here (and look at some better pictures)

There's everything you'd expect on a drum machine - pads for all the sounds, a pattern sequencer and mixer for each individual drum. For a Casio it's surprisingly well equipped with extras - there's individual outs for all the channels, as well as full MIDI connections.

The main selling point is the primitive 80s drum sounds and the sampling function, which has the same trashy 8-bit sound as the SK1 keyboard. It may be of interest to circuit benders too.
It's fully functional and in good nick, no original box but it does have a manual which was kindly printed out by the person I bought it off originally.

CIRCUIT Bent Casio RZ-1 Hip-Hop Demo!

The following is a demo of a circuit bent Casio RZ-1. The Casio RZ-1 was an early sampling drum machine released in 1986, around the same time as the venerable SP12. Like the SP12, the RZ-1 samples in low-fi quality, giving it a distinct, crunchy sound.

The RZ-1 has a total of 0.8 seconds sampling time, which can be divided into 4 0.2 second banks, two 0.4 second banks, or one 0.8 bank. Banks 1/2 and 3/4 have their own faders and outputs respectively. Each built-in drum sound also has a designated fader and output (some, such as the closed and open hi-hat share the same output/fader).

This particular RZ-1 was circuit bent by Diabolical Devices. While it's not a feature I use often as a primarily Hip-Hop producer, it's always nice to have options.

GLITCH monster sk1!

This is a one-of-a-kind patchable glitch box. It is dozens of hours of soldering spagetti by the inventor www.kingcapitalpunishment.com You can find it on his website under one of a kind devices. It was once a Casio sk-1. Features I am NOT demonstrating here: Hendrix-style feedback loops using the microphone send and the drum machine glitch out. Oceanus shows some of that drum thing, so instead i thought I'd simply patch up and go. The click beat your hearing are the 8 mechanical relays that switch on the glitch patch. I am also not using the light source VCA. This machine is simply mad, Mad i tell you! You can do melodic flutes with poly-portemento, vibrato and built-in echo but I didn't do that either. Madness in a box. Lots of fun.
